Recessed bathroom spotlights are designed to be waterproof. This means that they are made to withstand humidity and splashes of water (something common in bathrooms). This is determined by the IP protection classification (index of protection) which indicates its level of resistance to water.
On the other hand, they also have particular characteristics in terms of security. For example, they may have special gaskets or seals to prevent moisture from entering electrical connections and inside the bulb.
