Are you looking for bathroom lamps? Here you will surely find it.

The bathroom ceiling lights and above all the bathroom wall lights have to be manufactured to be able to withstand the humidity conditions (IP protection) that these spaces have and thus guarantee their duration and safety.

Here we explain what is the IP protection and why it is so important when lighting a bathroom.

Here we give you some tips on how to light a bathroom.

Tips for lighting a bathroom correctly+

In a bathroom, it is common to find different lighting areas, such as general light, mirror light and light in the water area. The combination of these types of lighting is essential to achieve adequate lighting in the bathroom.

  • Mirror area lighting: Perhaps the most important area of the bathroom, where it is not good to limit the level of light. It is very important to minimize shadows on the face as much as possible and opt for luminaires with good color rendering (minimum CRI>80). They are lateral light sconces or placed above the mirror.
  • General lighting: This is in charge of creating lighting that illuminates the entire bathroom evenly. You can achieve this by using recessed ceiling lights (spotlights or downlights) or specific bathroom ceiling lights.
  • Lighting in the shower: In this area, make sure you have waterproof luminaires with the appropriate IP protection (IP54 or IP65). Recessed bathroom spotlights are the most suitable.

How many lumens per square meter do I need to light a bathroom?+

The number of lumens per square meter needed to light a bathroom can vary depending on the size of the bathroom and individual preferences. However, for reference, a lighting of around 300 to 500 lumens per square meter is recommended.

In addition, it is advisable to distribute the lighting evenly throughout the bathroom, making sure to cover all areas, such as the mirror area, the shower or bathtub, and the furniture. In this way, annoying shadows are avoided and balanced lighting is provided throughout the space.

If dark tones predominate in the bathroom, both on the floor and on the ceiling, it is preferable to increase the level of lumens in the room.

What color light is best for bathrooms?+

The most suitable light color for a bathroom can vary depending on personal preferences, the design and the colors of the space. In our opinion, the ideal is to differentiate the bathroom environments according to their use, and with this, also adjust the color of the light for each of them.

The shower or bathtub area is a space where a relaxing and intimate atmosphere is sought. A light color between 2700-3000K can be beneficial to reduce stress and create that special moment.

In the mirror area and hygiene area, we carry out personal care tasks, such as shaving or putting on makeup. A neutral white light tone of 4000K will provide us with balanced and versatile lighting.

It is important to remember that preference for light tone is subjective; Some people may prefer warmer tones to create a relaxed atmosphere, while others may favor brighter, crisper lighting.
